TORONTO - Now that Dustin McGowan has proven to himself he can still pitch in the major leagues, hes setting bigger goals for 2014. Dalvin Cook Womens Jersey . "I think Im going to try to start next year," said McGowan. "Im going to try it just to see how it feels. Theres no harm in trying. "We talked about it earlier in the year, just mentioned it back and forth," he continued. "I told them if I did it, it would definitely be next year and its kind of the last thing we left off with so Im sure itll be revisited." McGowan is back with the Blue Jays after a month-long stint on the disabled list with a strained left oblique. He was injured during a July 29 appearance against the Oakland Athletics. McGowan pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief that night, his longest outing of the season. The strain happened on a pitch to Yoenis Cespedes in the sixth. McGowan would face five more batters that night, including three after sitting through his teammates turn on offence in the seventh. McGowan knew there was a problem when he woke up the next morning but, taken in the context of his injury-plagued career, he took solace in a small detail. "Its the first time Ive ever been on the DL and its not an arm injury," he said. McGowan threw one scoreless inning in a rehab appearance for Dunedin on Friday. Hes looking to finish strong and then amp up in the offseason. "Ill train in that direction," said McGowan. "Its never going to hurt to train for that and if it doesnt work out, at least its easier to go from being a starter to a reliever than the opposite. So Id rather train that way." "Minister" Delabar activated from DL How did Steve Delabar spend last weekend? He officiated the marriage of his brother, Daniel, to his new sister-in-law, Mallory. "It was the coolest thing Ive ever done," said Delabar. Apparently the process of becoming a minister, the temporary kind, isnt an arduous task. "You go online. You dont really fill out anything. You just pay money and its like, youre in." Delabar introduced the two and so they asked him to officiate the wedding. He got to know Mallory while pitching for Seattles Triple-A affiliate in nearby Tacoma. Mallory was an employee of the Rainiers. When Delabar got called up to the Mariners, Mallory and some friends attended his first game. So did Daniel and a group of his buddies. Numbers were exchanged for the first time and the rest is history. Delabar is back from a four-week stint on the disabled list due to inflammation in his pitching shoulder. He first felt pain, which he describes as out of the ordinary, following his Canada Day appearance against the Tigers. "The strength was there," said Delabar. "Even whenever I was still pitching on it, I could pitch. It was just, not tired, but there was that inflammation there that just wouldnt go away and I needed just a few more days than I was getting. So that was the idea, shut me down for a little bit and then get me going again." Delabar, who swears by the heavy ball-throwing program created by Blue Jays consultant Jamie Evans, intends to make minor changes to his spring training approach to avoid missing time next season with a similar injury. "Every little thing that you do and every little bump that you hit, you hope to avoid that bump next time," said Delabar. "Im trying to figure out the plan to be able to avoid anything that might come up next time." Jaleel Johnson Jersey . Second-seeded Sloane Stephens of the United States made lighter work of her day as she beat 2009 champion and Swiss wild card Timea Bacsinszky 6-3, 6-3. Two seeds fell: No. 4 Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium lost to Katarzyna Piter of Poland 6-4, 6-2, and No. Jaleel Johnson Womens Jersey . The Canadiens captain, who underwent surgery on his injured biceps in the off-season, had been skating with the team in a non-contact capacity since last week. BEIJING -- Kevin Koes Calgary rink inched closer to a playoff spot at the mens world championship of curling, improving to 7-3 in the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 11-5 rout over Germany on Thursday. Koe took an early 9-1 lead through four ends and sailed home with the win over Germanys Johnny Jahr to assure at least a tiebreaker berth on the final day of round-robin play. The Canadians will complete the round robin with a game against Scotlands Ewan MacDonald (3-6) later Thursday. A win in that game would nail down, at worst, a berth in the Page 3-4 game. A victory, combined with a loss from Japans Yusuke Morozumi (7-3) would put Canada in the Page playoff 1-2 game against Norways Thomas Ulsrud. "Its good news," said Koe. "Weve come through the three-four game a few times with this team (including the 2010 Tim Hortons Brier and the 2014 Alberta mens championship). We just have to get in there. And once we get in there, thats usually when our best games show up. "Were pretty much down to our last life here, so we have to come out against a good Scotland team thats probably going to be playing pretty loose, and take care of business." Canada took control early on against Germany. Koe made a precision come-around tap to sit four and block off the path to the four-foot. Ben Gedeon Womens Jersey. German last-rock thrower Felix Schulze needed to make a hit-and-roll for a single, but he wrecked on a guard to give Canada a stolen four-ender. "That nice little hack-weight shot Kevin made in the second, that was good for his confidence," noted lead Nolan Thiessen. "Weve wrecked a few times on those, so to make one and really put the pressure on him to make a really good shot against four early in the game is good. "Youll get mistakes when that happens, and it got us a little bit of mojo and hopefully we can carry it over this afternoon." After Germany was forced to a single in the third, Canada put the victory away with Koe drawing for four in the fourth end. The Germans would cut into the lead with three in the fifth and one more in the sixth, but Canada scored two in the seventh to prompt handshakes. The Germans (4-6) are out of playoff contention. Norway locked up first place Thursday morning with a 6-4 win over Pete Fenson of the United States (3-7), while Sweden (6-4) took an 11-4 win over Japan. A Japanese victory would have all but locked up a spot in the one-two game. In the other game, Russias Evgeny Arkhipov (2-8) took two in the 10th end for a 6-5 win over Denmarks Rasmus Stjerne (2-8). Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
